    Angry Play.com deserve to die!

i am now not a happy bunny at all....i have a strong desire to throttle someone at Play.
I ordered the Oracom 256mb mp3 player on monday evening for my birthday from Play and recieved the 'large order verification' email, so i phoned in yesterday and authorised the order.
the thing is when i ordered it, it said there were some in stock, but i looked on thurs and it said there were none in stock. i just checked my account on Play and it said they are awaiting stock. this is damn annoying cos i phoned play and the eejit on the phone said i gotto wait 3-28 days for them to get stock in and that the mp3 player would probably have been given to someone else or summat.
its wrong how they take the money for stuff they aint got in stock, or give it to someone else before i can authorise it. i somehow doubt i'll use Play again now.

if war is the answer, then we are asking the wrong question

cancel the order if you can...you haven't recieved the goods and are within your rights to demand a full refund (though technically not a refund as you're not refunding against anything, just getting your money back.

well said ma man. The best place ive seen for games and dvds, an free delivery...

Most of the time the mistakes made are due to a few baboons working there but as a company they seem fine to me

Sometimes it can take a little longer to receive stuff. For me it has ranged from next day upto 4 working days after the order is placed.

Overall, they are a great company. Nowhere else will you find current releases at their prices

They are from cornwall are they not? I heard from someone who bought something of me in the sales forum that they could be affected by the strike meaning things will take longer anyway.

In my opinion play are one of the best and most reliable places ive ever ordered from, they sent me a game and the game was still shrink wrapped when i oppened it no disk and manual. I rang them up and sent it back next day via recorded delivery on a tuesday morning and got another copy sent back to me 2 days later without any problems what so ever.

Play.com are ace. Why? prices, simple as that. Even with my 25% staff discount i rarely get stuff as cheap as play (just bought dogsoldiers and the transporter for £16 combo offer)

Service is usaully excellent with acceptable delievery times. However nobodys perfect. This time last year i got xXx r1 from play. It arrived and the case was bent like a banana, the disk was scrtaeched beyoned belief. I send it back and get the same dvd returned to me as a replacement SO i go through the arduous process of getting a returns number only to be told play dont do return numbers(website and emails say diff) ??? then i get told to "just stick a note in wiv it mate")
Return the dvd again and get a replacement- by this time the whole debacle has been dragging on for at least a month and a half. I recieve a new copy this time BUT guess what, yes, its faulty AGAIN.

I phone up play and shout my mouth off and that got me a proper replacemnt (albeit in january far too late to be the intended christmas present ) and a refund for the price of the dvd (tho i suspect the refund was a mistake)

I am now very weary of ordering any region one titles from play after this fiasco it seems to risky.

Another time they kept me waiting 2months for a kirro mp3 player.. in the end i just has to cancel the order.

I still use play mainly because of their prices im just weary of r1 dvds now

As a side note it seems to be that www.dvd.co.uk, which is very simmilar to play (usually just a £ or so diff either way) is lesser known. Maybe check them out as i have found them to be very quick on delivery (which is also free )

Whenever an online retailer has to authorise your card details i think they must cancel the order as a safety measure as they cant start processing it legally until the deatils are cleared right?

    Thats harsh mate anyway

Great place to buy from they are

tho both 128mb and 256mb versions are currently out of stock. These smaller businesses always seem to have the best customer sevice, just like cpucity
