PayPal: You have added a new address

I have sent two payments via paypal this morning, and in my email inbox; along with the reciept I got an email from paypal saying i've added a new address (which i havent). The address is the same as before, and there is no duplicates in the paypal settings...

I got one yesterday, they're possibly just updating their addresses database or something. I'm not sure if I've used my uni delivery address recently so it could be that.

It's not, it's tottally genuine. There isn't any links to click how it is anyway - and even if it was, why would you get it at the exact same time you get a reciept from PayPal?. It happened twice, surely cannot be a coincidence.

Just a note to everyone: Have fun with the phishing emails. I like to fill in bogus information in hopes that it will waste the phisher's time.

Same problem here. If you have a quick look at MSE, there is a MASSIVE list of other people who have the same problem. Only just popped up in the last 2 days too.

    Yeah must be.

It happened twice it must be true

Maybe they were just lucky, I get these all the time with links that dont go to paypal so I just automatically delete them all, why even if it was geniune would I want to log into my account and verify a random persons email address for trading on my account anyway?

What I never got about paypal was the spoof thing, you email them and they email you back telling you if its legit or not, I used to report them as I thought they would do something about it and actually stop certain sites, but I still get them from the same sites, if it just a verification thing to tell you whether its legit or not? I can tell if somethings not legit, its annoying to know Ive wasted my time if so I only ever fowarded them to paypal/ebay in the hope they would get onto them and shut them down!

i just bought a CD through a bands site/store and PayPal only had my billing address, had to enter the delivery address i normally use again. It makes me wonder if you are right adrian, maybe they are just having a spaz right now

(last week they wouldn't let me log in after following a merchant link and wouldn't let me enter my credit card. this week they are fine from the same site.)
