Also anyone thats done them could they tell me this, when you go thru the steps and get to the recomend freinds bit, do your freinds need to sign up for it or just visit the site, if sign up for it how do they know it was me that made em sign up?

Apparently they genuinely do work, but a few things cost a bit of money apparently - I remember some dude wrote his experience in a blog, he had to pay for a subsription or something to blockbusters, but overall he spent just a tad over $20 after everything and I think subjected himself to a bombardment of spam with his mates.

Generally though, word is, is that they do actually work.

the trick is to get 5 mates that will pay 10 quid to do an offer

    Yeah, they work!
I know a guy that did one.
Thing is, they get you by making you spend £15 signing up to a service, and you have to get, say, 5 friends to do the same. This means that you have to find 5 people who are willing to sign up for this! Best bet is pay them all £16 or something, and get them to do you a favour.
You'll get your iPod, but will also probably get you and your friends a life of spam. The total cost will not be much less than the product! (If you are paying for your friends subscriptions too, that is).
The way they make money is through advertising for all these subscription sites (typically gambling or whatever) and by people who get 3 friends to do it, but can't find the last two, and so have to abandon the whole thing, losing their £40!

Yeh, the offer i was gonna do if i done it was one where you got a free trial and you could just cancel it a few days later and not be charged but it still counts as the offer completed.

Do you think itd matter if i say, created 5 email accounts and used the same CC to pay em all instead of giving my m8s money to do it for me?

There was an acticle on the bbc site a few months back, they are actually for real and alot of people have been getting their free ipods and cancelling their subscriptions straight away.
have been tempted to try it. Seems alot of effort though.

    I hate those bloody things.

You *will* sign up for a life of spam, and piss everyone off with your constant postingof what are essentially commercial links that are there for your financial gain.

People that post those all over the messageboards are no better than spammers, IMHO.

Why are you guys worrying about spam? Surely you can just make a temporary account for the duration of the offer?

I did get mine. But only after a long long wait.

I did profit evem with the gambling bit, so mine was 100% free plus i gained a little bit back! So i was moderately happy.

I was recently wondering about something similar except it was for free Alienware pcs and laptops and wanted to know whether it genuinely works or not. I thought I'd give it a go but I'm usually skeptical of these things.

That's the problem with these things, our greed gets in the way and the prize is just too tempting. Which is why I succumbed and thought I'd try it. I just need some referrals now and see what happens. I could really do with a laptop as well.
