    Red face Job interview disasters?

Today I attended a 'Recruitment Day' for trainee bus drivers. I passed the written test easily, flew through the medical and then provided a urine sample for a drug test I know that I'll pass. Then I got in a LWB van for an assesment drive with an instructor.....and promptly took out the wing mirror of a parked up van when I cut it too close. Result- instant failure.

As you can imagine I'm a bit pissed off with myself, so cheer me up by sharing your job interview disasters if you have any.

I once applied via a temp agency for a job processing speeding camera fines in Nottingham Magestrates Court.

Bleedin' nightmare it was, I ended up working there for 3 months
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

I had a job interview once where the guy asked me what my worse personal trait was, I told him that I was arrogant, he wanted to know why so I gave him a few examples and he said no, thats not arrogance thats just knowing what your doing and getting on with it.
A bit later he asked me where I would be in 5 years time, so I said "Doing your job", that, he said was arrogance......

I've had some bad interviews before that felt more like CIA interrogations ( without the free trip to Egypt ) - I was definatly made to feel is if they where doing me a favour for which I should be eternally greatful - needless to say I turned the position down after letting the Agency know exactly what I thought of them

I was once asked if I would choose the company over my girlfriend. I picked my girlfriend and that was the end really. When I asked the guy what he would do he said the company and I asked if he was lying he said no with a smile. Rubbish

I recall going for an interview with an accountants.

I got there 15 minutes early, was nicely dressed, and I sat there awaiting my interview.

2 minutes before I was due to go in I had a tingling in my head that didn't feel right and then my nose started to bleed quite profoundly all down my clean white shirt.

As sod's law stipulates, the moment this happened - the person came out to great me and start the interview, but they came out noticed I had a nose bleed and then told me to ring and they would sort out another day due to what had happened. The nextday when I rang I got fobbed off by the receptionist straight away.

Their loss in the end really, last time I heard they we're still crying for a technician to fix their network out

Haha, I know what you mean. Don't worry, I will raise points with them - not in the interview though

Am I the only person here who actually likes Symantec's Products?

Anyway, I can remember when I got my interview for the job I was doing now. As I walked in there was a young girl behind the reception desk and for some reason I automatically went into flirt mode (Damn Maleness...)

About 15 minutes later she goes, then comes back and she's the one interviewing me. Damn that made it bloody awkward.

I love Norton Ghost. I don't use any of their other products I'll be working on "enterprise" though.

I once 'put my feet up' during an interview... I was very relaxed at the time as it was about the 6th or 7th interview I'd had in a row at the time and was very used to going over the same old things. Luckily the job sounded pants so I didn't really care that I'd stuffed it up. Other than that the other stupid thing I've done several times now is accept a job believing everything I was being told at interview and not asking enough questions to figure out that the company hasn't got a clue what they're doing and the job will be pants.

Rave suffers from "Working class envy"
He clearly feels that anyone that doesn't do a low paid job or have to use a lot of physical effort work hard enough, so he has decided to look for either low paid jobs or average paid jobs where you collapse from exhaustion at the end of the day.
I also hear that he intends to distribute the Socialist Worker to anyone he can force to take a copy off his hands.
    Dont get me wrong.

P.S. Rave, I dont think you'll pass the drug test so easily. I would check to make sure your water hasn't been spiked by LSD first.

I openly mocked an interviews Goatee beard once. Never did get to work for Safeways, what a shame.
