Going to try and start a tiny business. Any tips?

Right, I got bills to pay (and Im 16), so Im going to try and set up a custom art business.

The idea is that whatever you want painted, drawed or sketched I can do. You will have to pay a deposit and the price is decided on the complexity of the painting.

I bought a website name- www.customart4u.net and a friend is starting to make the website.

What tips do you have? I want to make some money and be a little self independent (I hate asking pearants for money).

    Thanks for any help.

To state the obvious, portfolio time! Also look into getting word of mouth around.

Yep, get some existing work up there to showcase your talent.
Advertise small to begin with, your school newsletter or a local paper, for example.

Depends on the difficulty and size .

    But as a general thing-

    -Simple bold painting- £10-15

    -Some complexity- £15-25

    -Very complex- £25-35

This is on a small canvas.

I also believe you have been told about this before no?

And secondly, your advert in your sig must link to a forum sale topic.

    Please correct.

    Matt.

Higher, you won't be taken seriously at those prices.

Also see if your local arts council stuff has exhibtions, get as much exposure as you can.
