they do the charger which charges the battery and phone at the same time, so, yeah it cant hurt.

so long as you get the polarity the right way around then should be fine.

and don't draw too much current. A lot of these chargers that charge phones + batteries, won't actually charge both simultaniously, my n660 wouldn't.

if you just splice the wire, its a parrallel load, so you have to sum the currents. Ergo, you need a charger which can output two phones worth of load without the voltage dropping too much.

now, odds are you can get away with 2 on 1, but i wouldn't push it any further than that.

also, i wouldn't ever have both phones + charging + calling. As thats when most current is drawn. A problem you might face, depending on the design of the wallwharts (which are actaully normaly switch mode) is excess heat, the circuitry can probably coupe with extra load, but the casing hasn't been designed to dispate.

Somthing else to keep in mind : Some phones are fussy on how clean and stable the supply to it is.
For example, some Sony phones are really funny about charging somtimes. If the voltage fluxuates only slightly, it'll stop charging.
I dont know the case with Nokia's.

if you don't think the wall wart can supply enough power, get a beefier one from Maplin. You should be able to find one that can cope with a couple of Amps.

Are Nokia still using the same power connector they've been using for the past 300 years?

No, the new N-Series phones have a smaller connector.

Apparently the reason is that the newer phones charge more quickly by drawing more juice, and they don't want old phones to be damaged by plugging them into the new high power chargers. You can get adaptors that will allow you to charge an new phone with an old charger, but not the other way around.

offical, or some guy in china writes nokia on em?

most mobile phone firms dont like the idea of users changing batteries often!

as for sensativity, charging batteries is about current source, not voltage source, but then we get on to more confusing electronic!

i know but im sure it could handle it just dont wanna blow my n80 and n91 in one go , id be rather pissed off, although it would most likely be the charger that would give out first

quite, but when the charger 'goes' one often dosen't know what will happen to the circuit, some of them chargers lack basic over current protection!

myself i have a 5v 9v 12v rails, which i plug most of my chargers into, makes it easyer!

want to re-design it thou, put current limiters on.

Now there's an idea. just 'customise' an old AT power supply. Plenty of power there. You could use an ATX supply, but you would need a load plug to sumilate a motherboard to get it to power up.

i've actually just had to give back a atx PSU that had been customised by a mate who actually understands analouge electronics and swtich mode PSU stuff properly. I'm planning to mod one of these into my desk, with a size of connector for each voltage rail supported.

and a little vu meter showing current draw, would be quite handy.

seriously, if you can afford to get TWO n80's and TWO n91's (which are 3-400 quid each sim free, or normally at least 50 quid or so with expensive contracts) then surely you can afford to run 4 chargers...ok so it might be a space thing for a 4-way adapter is a much safer solution surely

Thats what i plan on doing when i move to a bigger place and have a dedicated workshop/study

Spud, I can't speak for weebroonieuk, but for me if wouldnt' be able paying for the electricity 4 chargers would waste, but would be the carbon footprint those chargers have. Might seem silly to some, but i've very consious of the environmental impact my lifestyle has (ie. lots or power hungry toys )
