I came across this post during some research I was doing in regards to SkillsTrain AKA Scheidegger and its many other aliases.
It is interesting just how many bad posts and reports outweigh the few if any good :/
Anyway, basically I am being ripped off by SkillsTrain in that I went with a C#.net course and got sent a CIW.
The course was late ariving in that it wasnt sent at all.
When it did arive I spent a month trying to contact and get any results from skillstrain to rectify the matter.
Finally got some joy and was told the course had been cancelled untill I get a letter from Caree development finance saying I owed the full amount as I didnt cancell in time.
Long story short I am in a battle with them for a full and entitled refund.
I just thought I would share this as all I seem to be reading is mostly bad reports and based on my experience, I can see why!
I hope some of you will come over and take a look at my public stand and maybe post a show of support or just generally drop me a line.
I would also like to issue a word of warning to anyone looking to do fast track home study and that is, research like mad before you comit... If only I had done the same!!!!!!
Also, I do hope you dont consider my url spam, only I couldn't type out all of my story here, its too long so posting the url was easier :)
Thanks!!!!! :surrender:
Re: MCSE Course with SkillsTrain (Scheidegger)
Hi Mikey, just read your blog/website, disturbing how some companies treat those who they do business with.
If it wasn't so bad, you'rd have to laugh. Those aptitude tests, who ever actually fails them.
It may be a laugh to get together with as many of the other disgruntled skills train/CDF clients as you can and serve small claims court petitions on the same day (I'm sure they receive plenty on normal days, but imagine if you could organise 500+ for the same day) and flood the office/s.
The receptionist you spoke to may not have treated your call with the respect it deserved, but put youself in her place, a large part of her job was, probably, listening to angry complaints, whilst being paid, probably (unless she is related to the boss) minimun wage. I know this doesn't justify her attitude, but would make it more understandable.
If you haven't already, take a look on the moneysavingepert sit, he may have even written about this (maybe the firm would be under a diff. name) before. He gives advice on saving money, small claims court applications, etc. and has a great forum that would be worth joining as there are perhaps people on there going through the same as you. Money Saving Expert: Consumer Revenge - Credit Cards, Shopping, Bank Charges, Cheap Flights and more
Good luck, and let us know how things turn out.

Re: MCSE Course with SkillsTrain (Scheidegger)
I was lucky, I very nearly signed up for their MSCA course when I was trying to figure out a way to get a start into a dedicated IT company/department.
It wasn't until the guy said he couldn't supply me any sample course material / tests etc and was very insistant on "how easy it is to pay via these handy pricing structures" that I put a stop to the whole thing. Their "careers advisors" are complete frauds, they're sales reps pure and simple and remind me a lot of double glazing salesmen!
Re: MCSE Course with SkillsTrain (Scheidegger)
I nearly did their A+ & MCSE courses a few years ago but bailed after doing some research.
Re: MCSE Course with SkillsTrain (Scheidegger)
I was going to go with them when I wanted to do my CCNA and they came around to my house and my mum was there and she kept asking him aload of questions and he just replied with smart ass comments, they are a bunch of cowboys. Instead I want to a computer college and did my CCNA so the advice I would give to anyone is goto a proper place and learn with the equipment infront of you because learning from books is going to be tough when you get thrown infront of a piece of equipment and don't have a clue what your doing.
