    I'm sure you guys that received it all noticed the orange banner (or at least a bit of text saying "Having trouble viewing this newsletter? Click here")

    If you give it a click you'll see how it's supposed to look.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    hmm great newsletter however it seems to play havoc with the hotmail interface, for example

    can anyone else confirm this, incase its not clear the actual hotmail design gets broken up and you can see gaps between the tabs at the top

    Works fine in Outlook 2k3 on my wide screen which is great. too many newsletters force a horizontal scroll.

    One *tiny* thing though. how about making the text size for "having trouble..." the same as "In this issue..." would make the orange and blue boxes the same size. they are currently a couple of pixels off.

    Displays fine in my email client (being Thunderbird..) and there don't seem to be any issues.

    I like the design and the latest snippets from the News articles layout is nice. But one small niggle that's more of a personal thought on the Newsletter is that I do not really think the column on the right saying "in this issue..." is very clear in detailing what is actually covered, as it just seems a bit clumped up and 'busy' .. If you get what I mean! Like it doesn't stick out and shout out to me what exactly is covered, which is what I kind of would look for.

    But apart from that it's great and makes it nice and uniform with the site/forum! So nice work.

    ..Hope that helps in some way!

    Thanks for the tip Funkstar, I've incorporated that now.

    So let's cover the main issues:

    Webmail

    That'll be the issue then!

    Basically that's where it goes belly up. GMail strips out embedded styles, but will deal with inline styles. Now, I'm NOT going rewrite the whole thing with inline styles. However, I have been able to hack it a little bit to make it readable.

    As for the "Having trouble" link, I've tweaked that too so that even without embedded styles, it's quite visible, so you can choose to view the full in-browser version.

    Now, hotmail appears to be less tolerant than Gmail with embedded styles, but it might be with me messing around with the code layout for some of the mails that went out. So, in a little while I'll be sending everybody a new e-mail with the changes I've made in place, so you can see what you think.

    Thanks very much for your help.

    OK guys.

    I've made a few tweaks to make the layout better in GMail's webmail; it might do the same for hotmail, I'm not sure.

    Bottom line is it's readable, but applying more styling isn't worth me doing. To that end I've tried to make the "having trouble" bit bigger and more obvious, to encourage webmail users to simply open up a web-served version rather than e-mail one.

    Let me know what you think. Everyone who got one last time around is going to get another now; I've made a couple of other minor tweaks so let me know what you think.

    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Right, that's about it then.

    Now I have to go off and do more work on it, when I get a chance.

    Thanks to everybody who has provided feedback and suggestions!
