just installed media player 9 and since then a little section appears on my desktop saying xp profesional build whatever etc. now i remember seeing an option somwhere where you get rid of it but cantr remember where, any help, also since installin media player 9 computer slowed down slightly, this just because it needs more resources?
WMP has always been a bloated piece of... yeah anyway, can't live with it or without it.
Strange that the build number and all that shows - I thought that only happened on beta versions. Still, I guess there is a way to turn it on/off, so I'll take great interest when somebody posts how to do it!

TweakUI has the option to show Windows version on the desktop.
have tried tweak ui but to no avail, really odd as its just showed up after installin media player
