Annoying! They look so tacky and if you're doing anything over 30 they barely look like a flag anyway.

Saying that I wouldn't mind being the guy who invented them...

I had considered doing that too as a joke but realised, i wouldn't actually be able to ram into people, board their cars and make them walk some kind of plank while stealing it. So i went off the idea.

Going back to the flags, they annoy the hell out of me. I'm all for showing a little friendly patriotism, but they've only got so popular because of people jumping on a bandwagon.

There is no escaping them though, they're not going to go away. They've managed to become a tradition already. Euro 2008, World cup 2010, Euro 2012... they'll be back for them all, just like lights on houses at christmas. Also, like christmas lights, people have already started trying to out do each other. why have 1 when you can have 2. why have 2 when you can have 4. why 4 when you can have 28, cover your car in stickers, flags on the parcel shelf and get a tin of dulux from the garage to paint a big red cross on your pefectly fine white bonnet.

It's not the fact that people have them that annoys me, it's the fact most people have them because everyone else has them and they feel they have to too.

I have 6 flags on my car, 2 on my bicycle, 1 hanging out of my bedroom window and a flag-style bathroom motif. It makes me more English.

Tacky TBH! Good Cashmachine for someone though!

On my drive into the Office yesterday, I counted 6 flags that had broken off, lying in the gutter! As quite a patriotic chap, I find this more than a little insulting!

i find them very useful - any car with added flags is likely to be driven by racist rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish, and should be given a wide berth

Time to dig this out again from the excellent www.sniffpetrol.com site:

I've been meaning to get a plain England flag and write 'FRANCE' or 'BELGIUM' across the middle of it. Seeing those England flags with the word 'England' across them just makes me mad. I don't know why - it's probably totally irrational, but if you're going to display the flag, at least do it PROPERLY.

    Grrrr ;-)

I think the flags really are tacky.

But this (http://www.24dash.com/content/news/v...=7&newsID=7171) made me chuckle.

    Chavs must have been heartbroken!

If you are going to drive around with a flag, and you don't want it to be England... I wouldn't make it anything else (e.g. Sweden, Germany, etc) because that's just asking for chav attention..
