So a company wants to cut down acres of trees near my house which will cause massive implications.
What can be done about this?
p.s. sub-contractor company will be profiting very nicely out of this

you should try contacting your local council and see if the trees have preservation orders on them, so they'll need permission to cut them down, if they dont have that already u can ask the council to stick a tree preservation order on them but i think it depends what type of tree ,age etc..
We're going back around 40 years in age and a variety of tall trees I can't be certain of the species but I'll check. Will try your idea. Cheers.Originally Posted by mcmiller
One of the more important things is who owns the land that they are on.
If it’s public then it can be fought very fiercely.
If someone owns the land, and there isn’t a preservation order on the tree’s, your basically out of luck. Exceptions to this generally only come when building large industrial works. Then you can put your case forward and explain how it will damage the local area.
It's owned by a railway company so no, not public landOriginally Posted by Agent
Do you live close to a railway line then? If so there might possibly be some cause for complaint to the council about possible noise pollution that the trees currently block.
