When I saw it originally I thought it was fake then, but I think its fake mainly because the cut is so smooth and clean.

I'd imagine the person would have used a junior hacksaw which doesn't cut very cleanly especially on the material used to make printed circuit boards

P.S. If you want to hear REAL n00bness, my friend's friend Richard who reckons he knows a lot about PCs broke his AMD Athlon 3200+ Barton thinking you could insert it in to the socket in any direction, in the act of stupidity he bent about 30% of the pins.

Naturally I had a good laugh to myself about it for about ten minutes. So that level of n00beisity (yar I made up that word, but it should exist) does exist in real life

Man thats hilarious. You'd have to be pretty dumb not to at least read the instructions before taking a hacksaw to somethign that expensive.

Its actually rather annoying now that I think about it. I'm sympathetic to the fact that people just aren't knowledgeable about certain things, we all are, but how someone can be so blatantly clueless and ignorant towards something like this just makes me sick to be perfectly honest. -100 points for common sense. If this is indeed true then the person who did this deserves all the flaming he/she gets. Though I question the validity of it all after reading about it.
