    Judge Jules Live

Has anyone seen Judge Jules live, I have always thought of him as being a bit rubbish (from the words of other unreliable sources). But to cut to the chase, he is playing in my local town next Thursday night so I have bitten the bullet and brought some tickets today, Just wondering if you have any views on how good he is.

Seen him a couple of times, my brother is part of a Hard House night here in sunny southend and they paid £5k (yes, £5k) to have him do a 3 hour set. Thing was no one told judge that it was hard house, so he didn't start of very well. Pulled it back though and the last 2 hours was storming.

Saw him in Benidorm in July as he is resident in a club there for one night a week in the summer. Not a bad set, think he uses too many accapellas though and tries to be needlessly flashy with his mixing which results in too many long build ups! He does pick some wicked signature tunes though! eg House of Trance - HOT (House of Trance)

I saw him at Gods Kitchen spring ball at the newcastle arena a couple of years back, remember feeling dissapointed to be honest. That being said I am a fan of his music and remixes, particularly this tune - Brainbug-nightmare__judge_jules_remix.

I've seen him once and that was enough in all honesty.

There ARE better less known names in the business and Jamin hit the nail on the head with his messing about with accapella's and whatnot.

Seen him a couple of times at Gatecrasher at the NEC, and to be honest each time I've wished I had a rifle.

One year, we'd just had someone on who'd really got the crowd going, despite it being late. Jules comes on and totally misreads the crowds vibe and goes in with some real hard house/techno. It was too much for the crowd and it really killed off the feeling. Once he'd done one, I think PvD came on and saved the night...

Personally, he gets a large NO from me, but then I've not heard him over the last year or so. Your mileage may vary.

I last saw him 7 years ago - I didn't even know he was still going!

Right on, the best DJs I've seen have been much lesser known - only very few big names can backup their pricetag with a worthwhile performance.
