    Dimplex Oil Filled Radiator question

Well ive got some instead of normal water filled ones as heating. The thermostat things on the site also have a little red button on that on some have popped up.

This unfortunately stops the radiator from turning on and heating. If you push it down (or tape it as some of our last residents had) the radiator will turn on/off as the thermostat is set.

What are these buttons for? Does it mean my flat is going to burn down beacause they've popped up?

Well I'd hazard a guess at some kind of thermal/overheat protection?

Or maybe an oil level protection?
