    Wooo! A book thread!

After reading and enjoying Dave Gorman, Danny Wallace and two of Tony Hawks' books, I'm currently ebay bidding on Hawks' "Beating the Moldovans at tennis". Any new amusing non-fiction books I should be perusing?

I have a Japanese DVD starring Nao Oikawa called Crime and Punishment. I wonder if they're the same.

But I'm reading Conrads Lord Jim at the moment.

I'm also re reading my own book to see if I've made any mistakes. So far so good
Perfume is a great book. Really bizarre and well told. LotR ain't to bad either!

the sequels allright but not as good, im tellin everyone about it (- wicked idea for a string!)

if you've heard of the Illiad by homer and you like your king Auther type Zeus robotic time travelling type book this is for you RRREEEAAAADDD ITTT!!
I've just finished Olympos today and it was great. But I'd have to agree that Illium is the better of the two as I spent most of the time wondering how one of the characters got to be in two places at once. But it all got sorted out in the end.

Currently on with Pandora's Star by Peter F. Hamilton. Quite an engaging read but as always Hamilton's excessive descriptives can somewhat detract from the real narrative. I often get a bit distracted with good portions of his books but the end result is more often than not worth the effort.

Ive just started wading through the 9th book in the never ending Robert Jordan series. Had read the rest about 6 years ago and was halfway through the 9th when I had given up. Saw the book on sale recently and thought I should give it a 2nd go ...
