    Gamers Give Back

Another year, another charity drive by directhex.

Three years ago, gamer webcomic Penny Arcade started a charity called "Child's Play". The simple idea is: childrens' hospitals make Amazon Wishlists for things that would make their patients' lives brighter, and people order those things direct.

Since 2003, the number of hospitals has grown from 1 to 38, including Alder Hey oop norf.

The charity has no running costs (all operational costs including full-time staff are absorbed by Penny Arcade, Inc) - anything you buy from Amazon goes straight to the hospital of your choice, and any money you donate goes entirely to help sick kids.

Being a kid in hospital isn't fun, especially at Christmas, so I'd urge you all to make a donation. Not everybody can afford a PS2, sure, but even little things like £1.50 books can really make a difference.

So go on, do something nice this Christmas, and help show the world that not all gamers are evil AWP whores.

After having my best mate fall ill of cancer at the age of 16/17, I always try and do something at Christmas to help out.
This really is a great cause and ill be getting something as soon as I get paid - but remember people, if you dont have money there is plenty of charities that will gladly take any spare time you have off your hands

if you want the thread to have more impact

change the word "give" to "get"

or change the title to "Get Vista Preimum eddition for £10 Coupon"

Looking at the thread views on other threads, speaks volumes about the user base
