Till I saw the end I would have gone off on one for him being a complete knob, but in his situation I think it was an awesome thing to do!

absolute stupidity. There is no reason for this to be done, he may not care about his life, but that does not give him the right to endanger others

if he fell off, hitting another train, dropped the camera like a bullet, if he'd been seen the police would be on him which would force the train to slow in attempt to "save him" etc etc.

He's just a kid being stupid, but everyone is/was a kid and done stupid things.

as ikonia said, if he had fallen off and hit another train, dropped anything into an oncoming train etc. At those speeds there is nothing the drivers could do. Even if nobody died when he went under the wheels of another train, imagine the psychological effect on the driver who had just killed someone.

Merlin4458 says that he "seemed like he knew wot he was doing", but thats a load of crap, anyone can make it look like they know what they are doing until something happens that they didn't anticipate

The only life he is endangering is his own. However he's risking inconveniencing a load of people. However having a delay to your timetable's nothing compared to knowing you're going to die slowly so I say good on the lad.
I wouldn't be saying that if I thought he was actually endangering others safety though.
Also, he's not risking the lives of train drivers - people make a right mess on trains, but the trains themselves are unharmed, even at 186 MPH. My bro has been involved in cleaning up one such mess (he's police)

apparently his death may be faked, to get rid of media attention..

imo he's not endangering anyone other than himself, and as its in germany he's not breaking the law either. seems like he's having a blast - fair play to him.

you'd have to drop something bloody hefty into the path of an oncoming train in order to derail it. i don't think he's got any cars tucked under his jacket.

Well I think it's pretty lame; from the title I thought he'd be standing on the roof like Jon Voight at the end of Runaway Train. But clinging onto those suction cups is bit shandy, if I were terminally ill I'd be a lot more hardcore than that.

He is endangering others, but no more than (say) that guy in the news for sleeping drunk on the train lines. Who was described as 'stupid' at a press conference, in a very British manner

I don't think dropping anything would derail it, and I don't think that was the implication.

But if he dropped that camera into an incoming train or fell of himself into an oncoming train, say both the train and him travelling at 70mph he would go through the window and potentially hurt the driver quite seriously.

I'm surprised train surfing isn't banned in germany.
