I vote for a move of this thread to the vids section in lifestyle and this film to be put in the bargain bin of shame.

Sorry but I hated it and wanted to kick my TV off it's stand.

Now Spaceballs...now thats a comedy along with young frankenstein

I can see i'm not gonna win this one with you Madduck

The quotes make me smile as when I read them I see the scene play out in my head and in the context I think they are very funny.

But I give up I, promise to no longer try to make you admit that you are disillusioned and confused, and that Napoleon Dynamite IS in fact the best comedy ever produced

I've never seen it and agree with Madduck - they didn't make me smile at all. But like you said maybe that's because I haven't seen it and can;t imagine the scene in my head.

I've only seen the movie once, have to agree with Jonny that at times it does seem like nothing is happening. I think the appeal for me was the usual sense of rooting for the underdog. The quoted scenes mentioned by Syd are definately a lot funnier if you have seen the film and can picture and hear the delivery of the lines in your head.

I haven't seen it either but those quotes just did an excellent job of putting me off! I don't even see how they're meant to be attempting to try to be funny, as Madduck said, it sounds like they're missing the punchline!

I might attempt to watch it one day, but probably if the choice is either that or have my arm sawn off!

Great film. First time I watched it I didn't really get it or see the point, but now I love it!

Hope I haven't put you off too much, because you may be missing a gem.
I admit you have to have seen the film to find the quotes funny, I put them up to try to remind Madduck of the films funnyness
But if the film ticks your humour box then you will struggle to find another film so unfunnily hilarious.

Great film, but you need to 'get' it.
