Exclamation 7950 Gx2 Xfx Does It Work!

hello fellow members can anybody help !

i have a nvidia xfx 7950 gx2 fitted in my home made pc system, but i dont know if both cards run together? both lights come on but the system only says 512mb memory on card ON SCREEN DISPLAY DOES THAT MEAN ONLY ONE IS WORKING?
how do u check this as i cant find anywhere that tells u i can check my cpu dual core to see if it works no problem but to check my gx2 i just cant see if its actually running in sli mode !
i replaced both power leads i have a 550w power. more than enough i think? does anyone know what to do!

SLi doesnt double memory regardless of whether they advertise it as 1GB

it doubles available mem in windows with sli enabled, but the bios only sees one card that its plugged into.

Might be wrong but my understanding of SLi is that is doubles speed where it can.. not memory

each card processes their own texture sent to them, so in effect they use their own memory onboard. i didnt mean you see a graphics card with 1gb of ram in windows, i was speaking theoretically sorry, shoulda cleared that up.
