Tried both 320mb and 640mb versions of 8800GTS, both great! The limits are 660/1950MHz for both of them.
If you would like some photos of the cards and screenshots of the overclocking results, please email me at hellojerry@hotmail.com
I'm a graphic card profession actually
I think he meant program wise hellojerry, not expected clocks.
The best and most comprehensive overclocking tool is Rivatuner. Go and download it from Guru3D.com. It also monitors temperatures and clock speed graphically.
Use Rivatuner to monitor temps and change clock speeds and use atitool to check for artifacts and roughly determine max clock stability
i have used riva tuner but i couldnt find the temperature monitor on it il give it another go
Cheers
Rivatuner.
Biscuit clock the top dropdown bar, then click the hardware monitoring tab. Then click the small red button in the bottom left of the graph tab. This enables background monitoring.
ahaa thank you very much i think il stick with this then. Idling at 46c i wish they would bring out some decent aftermarket coolers for these things
Edit: actually thats the ambient temp im idling at 59! need to drill holes in the front of my case to sort out the airflow
What kind of temps should i stay between?

59C is fine for a video card.
As long as it's under 90c at load (the important temp), then just forget about it. GPUs have little in common with CPUs other than silicon.
you will idle higher than some becuase you have the bfg and its slightly overclocked stock ...unless you bought the non oc version.
Graphics card in my laptop idles around 70 and it says the most it will take is 120 so I wouldnt worry haha
it doesnt seem to like being overclocked much. i gradually went up to 600 + 900 testing with ati tool as i went but when i played bf i had severe fps loss :s
