Herc 9800se aiw no boot

Hey you all, maybe someone can help me:
I have a K7NCR18Dpro motherboard, with which I have been very happy so far. A few days ago, I tried to substitute my Winfast MX400 graphics card with the Hercules All-in-wonder radeon 9800se graphics card, which has an additional 4pin power connector. In 9/10 cases booting will not start, but after less than a second, the power supply is shut down. In case the system boots normally, all is fine and the graphics card works perfectly softmodded to 9800pro. I have a quality 350W power supply, and also substitution of this by a 460W power supply (from Enermax) did not help. I have found out, that the additional 4 pin power connection to the graphics card makes the problems. If I connect this power supply just a second after switching the computer on, everything is fine. I have flashed the MB Bios to the most recent version available on your internet site (05/03/2003). Do you think the motherboard shuts down the power supply? If yes, why, and do you see a solution, e.g. by changing settings in Bios?

I think some Shuttle's suffer the same problem as this with 9800 cards due to the power consumption on start up. Search the SFF forum here on Hexus as I'm sure someone posted something about a power delay circuit for the graphics card in there. It basically delays supplying power to the graphics for you by a split second so you don't have to muck about with the cables yourself.

thanx for the hints. I have seen already such a delay circuit on http://www.walibe.com/sections-viewarticle-7.html. I would love to have that installed. However, are the construction plans out there for it?

just to keep all viewers updated:
I seem to have solved the problem. Since I had read in other forums that qualitative high level psu might produce more problems because of more sensitive circuit shutdown systems, I installed a no-name 300W psu - no problems so far. The only thing is, that the no-name psu is so loud. would be good, if hercules could provide a database with actual psu that are compatible with their cards!!
