    Far Cry video problem

I recently installed Far Cry onto my new PC and for some reason it's not working as it should.

The menu system works fine and so does the very start of the game. However, when I move to the part where it goes outside the picture goes all psychedelic. I took a snapshot below which highlights the problem - in that instance only half the picture was affected, but when I move closer to the light it's completely unplayable.

I've installed the latest patch (1.4), the latest drivers for the X1950Pro gfx card (7.5) and the latest DirectX. I've had no problems with any other games - does anyone have any idea?

Whooooo! Looks bad, Have you got HDR enabled? It just maybe the issue as you say the start of the game works well but when you go outside (HDR) will kick in.

I had a similer problem with a x1800XT but had a issue with old drivers. I needed to use driver cleaner to mop up my system then HDR games worked really well.

    Cheers Matt.

I had a similar thing happpen with counterstrike source, it was down to drivers.

as mathew says, driver cleaner should sort this problem.

    Re: Far Cry video problem

Could it be something to the gama/brightness/contrast setup in the game??

    Re: Far Cry video problem

it had the same problem but on world in conflict, i just seemed to be that certain area in the game, once i had moved on it went. or if i just did not look at the area where it was occuring. this was with a 9500GT.

trying a get past the area that is making your system do it and see if it stops.
