Thread stuck in video device driver!!!

    Hello all,

I'm currently running XP SP2 OS on my Mesh computer. About a month or two ago I started getting very odd (not to mention frustrating) errors. Sometimes my computer would reboot when application windows were closed or opened and when it restarted the resolution and hardware acceleration on my graphics card would be set at minimum. It also freezes occasionally and you would only be able to move the mouse cursor horizontically. Then the video display would become mixed up on the screen. This eventually resulting in the blue screen of death. From what i can read of the message it says that there is a "Thread stuck in device driver" and it refers to my video card driver (ati_dvag).

I have tried formatting and reinstalling the C: Drive but the problem persists. I have disconnected and then reconnected the graphics card and tried installing newer drivers for my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Graphics card all to no avail. Could it be that my video card is packing up after just under 3 years? Or is it (another) bug with SP2?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

How old are the drivers you are using? Try getting some new ones and see if that fixes the issue. Or else maybe it`s time to start saving up for a new PC.

I've already tried installing the latest video card drivers. I'm not sure why it would suddenly start having this problem because i've never encountered it in the last 3 years that i've been using it.
