    NVIDIA Drivers

Out of interest just changed an FX5600 XT card for an FX5700 Ultra to see the difference. Got latest drivers from NVIDIA dated 29/06/07 and boy what a crap display (using 1440 x 900 on a wide display). Just couldn't get the type to look nice and crisp like it should, all a bit blurry. On a benchmark test ran 411fps. Installed older driver dated 01/06/06 and type is as crisp as one could expect but frame rate has gone down to 270fps. As I do very little in the way of games not too bothered, just a bit confused as to why later drivers should act so. Any idea?
    Cheers

older cards are less well tested when it comes to newer drivers, chances are a small UI bug crept in. Stick with the older drivers if they don't give you any problems (other than a loss of raw 3D framerates).
