Without the model number I can only surmise that it will be a TN type screen considering the price. In general all TN screens have fast response times, good for gaming, poor viewing angles and poor colour reproduction. In short good for gaming and browsing the internet, poor for watching films and any colour critical work.

Re: acer 24" screen wtih vga and dvi

hmm as said before my Acer 20" WS died after just under 2 years brand new bought for like £300... the first signs of trouble started happening about 6 months prior with the odd flickering. Also seeing as my 22" CRT Iiyama is still working perfectly after like 6 years and i bought it off ebay as a reconditioned model for like £350 kinda proves well built stuff holds its own quality.

Tbh i woundnt borther you might as well spend the extra £100 on something that might last a little longer then if you do wanna sell it and upgrade at least you can sell it and get some cash back rather than not sell it and get no cash back.
