8800ultra or 2 x 3870 pro 512mb crossfire

hi,

i cant make up my mind whether i should get a 8800ultra or 2 x 3870 512mb crossfire. my motherboard is asus p5k-e a crossfire mobo but with a 16 x and a 4 x slot. cost is not an issue. i dont know which one would perform better. Also wondering if ultra would fit in my case. i think if i move the middle fan compartment to the bottom and the bottom one to the middle i can fit it.thx

I would go for 2 3870

i would say the ultra because multi-gpu setups can be shaky at best and they don't wark perfectly or even at all with some games. the ultra should fit in the antec 900 it is only as long as your motherboard anyway.

Sit tight and get an X2 instead.

No point in buying a) the NVidia which is old and soon-to-be-discontinued stock or b) the dual card solution which will probably cost more and use more power and be noisier.
