    £200, 24" Monitor!

Has anyone got one of these? If so whats it like, do you get what you pay for or is it a pretty good monitor regardless of cost?

No doubt its a big montior with a high resolution for the price. The main negative point is the input; 1x d-sub only and the viewing angles, but its debatable as to whether you would notice a difference between analogue and digital.

Theres 2 threads on that monitor here:

The OCUK value monitor, whilst being more expensive, is probably better:

    Re: £200, 24" Monitor!

I woudnnt borther tbh, i had a cheap Acer 20" and it died after a year just a month and 1/2 past its warranty.

I just bought a Dell 2407 for £275 2nd hand but still 2 years left on the warranty.

So yes they are cheap but if you gotta spend another £200 a year later when it dies, then you might as well just spend the £400 and get something that will last longer or get a really good screen 2nd hand.

Well, I wish I had known that before I bought 2 of them!

To be honest, not had any probs so far, picture quality is good, very bright, decent contrast. Only issue I have noticed is that I do get a bit of screen flicker on one of them, seems to clear up after is been on a few minutes and its only noticeable because I like many of you always notice these things. No dead pixels at all either, so quite happy.

    Re: £200, 24" Monitor!

That iiyama one has a very low brightness level and the contrast ratio isnt too good. Go for the samsungs that have 3000:1 contrast ratio and 400 cdm2 brightness.

My current tft is a sony X black with 450 cdm2 brightness and it is almost as good as HDTV!

The brightness rating is the most underated feature on monitors.

Yeah, just as I thought, you get what you pay for!

Best to wait and gather more money for a better monitor I think. Thanks.

    Re: £200, 24" Monitor!

24" for £300 is about right for a quality piece of kit.

    22" for £200.

As someone has already said - you get what you pay for. Everything should have 3 year warranties tho.
