According to BFG webby its 10 years in Europe too, something to do with EU legislation.

    http://www.bfgtech.com/warranty.aspx

For original purchasers residing in areas outside the USA or Canada, the limited warranty for graphic cards shall be for a period of ten (10) years from the date of purchase.

The 4850 prices seem competitive, although for some reason Scan hiked theirs late in the day.... I am not in a hurry and go away for a week or so later. So will look to buy July ish or see what the 4870 brings or how nvidia responds.

Re: Looking for a GFX card to replace faulty PCIe X1900XT...

    I had a quick try of a 9600GT:

It did 1920 x 1200 in a game called Blacksite Area51, with a few stickies and such like, but it wouldn't do any dynamic lighting in STALKER on XP, but it did at low res' in Vista: Which lead me to have a look at the results of this test below in the 1680 x 1050 group: The 8800GT is standard clocking.

    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200..._gt_oc_512mb/4

After my brief experience with the 9600GT, I orderd this:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=747240 £111.84inc

I still think the 9600GT is a really good card........at the right price.
    Every little helps!
