HD 4870 Drivers

Lo,

I was looking to see if there are any updated drivers for my 4870 and the option does not show up on ATi's site. http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Any ideas why not?

Also, will the 3870 drivers work or is it just that there are no later drivers than the ones shipped on the DVD with the card.

There are no new 'proper' drivers for them, theres the 8.6 that comes with the card (which from my understanding is just a port from the 3870, people here i'm sure will know better)

Then there's the hotfix drivers for those with performance issues, they did nothing for me on 3D mark which is poor but crysis is set to very high on everything @ 1650 X 1080 and runs smooth.

Well this month at some point, but ATI can release them at any point in the month.

I think there was a leaked set of 8.7s around but i'd wait for the finals to come out.
Looking at my downloads, 8.3s came out on March 5th but all the subsequent releases have been 3rd/4th week of the month so you could be looking at this week but more likely next week.

With E3 already going on, they new drivers should be close...

There is a supposed 3.7% increase on 3DMark using these... Personally, I can't notice the differrence...

Well, not everything, the control scheme is the same, but they apparently stop the vegetation issues with ATI cards.
