Hercules/Guilliemot pulling out of graphics and monitor market

GUILLEMOT CORPORATION said it is sick of the graphics card business and is throwing in the towel.
In a statement, the company complained of "very weak gross margins" in the graphics board and monitor markets, and said it wanted to to something else instead.

Guilliemot will "progressively withdraw from the graphics board and monitor markets" and, "mobilize all of its resources towards the development of markets with strong potential".

I have an awesome Guilliemot control pad I bought from France 4 years ago. It never worked well with windows 98, but works great with XP.

Why do companies do this? They have great products, a good following, and happy customers, yet they're pulling out to make more money in another area. Fat cats at the top want more houses or bigger cars perhaps?

They run a bussiness. They are in it to make money. They don't think there is any profit in this market so they are moving on.

Probably not helped by all those people who kill their cards and send them back for RMA.

Companies are here to make money for their shareholders its as simple as that

Yeah, that's what I mean... whatever happened to keeping customers happy rather then shareholders?

Because Shareholders are the people who fnd the company and have a right to know what is happening with their money

i used to have a Guilliemot maxi gamer 2.. first pc upgrade i brought (voodoo2 card).. i wonder what they'll do instead - i'd be supprised if there is much money in the audio card business these days..

I used to have a Hercules GF2 Ultra. At the time no other card maker could come close to that card. Hercules allways seem to go that extra inch with there cooling systems.
