    Hazro HZ30W

As you may have noticed I have mentioned in the past few months about "big" 16:10 monitors.

My latest flight of fancy is the HZ30W and for a snip at just over £700 (plus whatever P&P is) but is only available (as far as I can see) from one retailer. It sounds like a good monitor based on the review at TFTCentral but of course I would need a colour calibration tool (and why wouldn't I when spending that kind of cash on any monitor).

Of course this is a large amount to put down for a monitor; the total end game is for a theatrical home experience + gaming.

So why am I posting this on Hexus? Of course I am after people's opinions Is there a cheaper alternative? Is there a better value (one that is perfect out of the box) monitor? Anything I should be aware of? Any previous users of Hazro brand monitors; good or bad experiences etc. etc.

Useage: Watching movies/gaming and eventually when I buy the software video editing.

P.S. I am aware to game at 2560x1600 will require a beast of a graphics card. All in due time.

Have you considered simply getting a flat-screen TV instead?

If you don't require the extra resolution of the monitor, it may be the better bet, certainly more suited to movies and gaming.

If you do need the desktop real estate, the Hazro is a nice monitor.

Don't fancy the TV. I would like the resolution the monitors offers.

PS Where can I purchase a monitor calibration tool (such as the LaCie Blue Eye 2)?
