New 22" Monitor needed & Nvidia DieShrink Query

Hey there,

I'm new to hexus and am hoping my stay here will be pleasant Thanks for any time given to answer these questions and future ones as well. Thanks you!

1.)I need a new 22" monitor, around £150-£180 i was looking at. Currently, i was looking as the LG226WTQ and the Samsung 22" SM2253BW (sorry cant post URLs, new user regulations)

could you please advise me on which of these are better and if there are superior choices? I hear samsungs are plauged with backlight bleeding which isnt returnable through a warranty.. so im kinda worried.

2.) New nvidia dieshrink GPUs
- When do they come out? (is there even a timeframe/release date?)
- Will performance be any different other than smaller/less heat?
- Will prices be the same as they are now for 260/280 or will they be extortionate again?

Thanks alot again for any replies,

Ollie

1) Both teh samsung and the LG are good, but id go with the samsung, i wouldnt worry about the backlight bleeding too much either, the samsung monitor is liekly to be better, read some reviews and im sure thatll help you decide. Try and find out the specs such contrast ratio etc (be sure to differentiate between contrast ratio and dynamic contrast ratio as they are different)

2) no idea sorry

1. Next month IIRC
2. Slightly faster. Will only be noticable to people that care about benchmarks.
3. With the AMD competition, I doubt they'll be extortionately priced but a little pricier than their 65nm equivalents.

Yeah I've been seeking info on die-shrunk G200 series too. Came across this wild speculation yesterday

Wouldn't trust it as far as I could spit
