22" Neovo H-W22 Widescreen LCD problem

Just bought one of these monitors form Scan

    http://www.scan.co.uk/product.aspx?ProductId=21398

and, once set up, the picture is good - or so I thought.

Some of the OSD items aren't available, including Sharpness.

What happens is that the objects on screen - text and icons - looks as if they're double by a tiny bit, like a double-strike print.
Setting to Default cures it but on reboot the problem is back.
Also the Auto button doesn't do anything.

In desperation I installed the driver but no help, so if you've got one of these I'd appreciate any tips.

Is it better to contact Scan or AG Neovo? Is it only DOA that's 1 day?

Re: 22" Neovo H-W22 Widescreen LCD problem

Folk - I have a fix for the blurry screen for you - which I found by accident. I also found this thread by accident when Google searching for how I could get the display to remember the fix! So here goes:

    1. If you read the manual carefully (which is really rubbish by the way - with half the items in the OSD not matching the manual), you will see that it says that the auto button (the leftmost) has no effect when in DVI mode.

    2. For those with a blurry screen in either VGA or DVI, go into the OSD (right most button). You will see that the screen isn't natively blurry - because the OSD is as sharp as a die!

    3. Cycle through the OSD by hitting the plus button - i.e. second from right - until you come to an OSD screen that says "Recall - Yes No".

    4. Hit the OSD right most button again until "YES" is lit up in red.

    5. Hit the OSD button one more time and whoomph - it will be sharp as anything.

Note: While it may now be sharp - this seems to reset ALL the settings and I would like to find a way of doing whatever this process does to the display to make it sharp - but without losing everything else as I find:

    1. The standard settings from this process are fine - with the exception of the brightness, which I have to reduce down to 50%.

    2. Randomly, the fuzziness comes back, and I have to repeat the above process again - including reducing the brightness.

    Hope this helps.
I saw this on a forum ages ago, copy n paste. I have the same screen but i dont have this problem, dont know why!?

  5. Received thanks from:

Re: 22" Neovo H-W22 Widescreen LCD problem

Thanks for the above, Infinite. It does confirm what I've found, the 3 main points being that Recall works, some OSD items are dead and that it doesn't 'stick'.
Nice to know that I'm not alone.

'Phoned AG Neovo today, sent an e-mail as requested with details and had a call back. Looks as if it'll be swapped for a new, tested one. If it is, that's good service.
