Looking for Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme GTX 275

I'm looking for the above from a manufacturer, not been able to find these in the UK anywhere so far.

I know from research that there appear to be 3 manufacturers making them:

    Galaxy GeForce GTX 275 Overclocked
    Zotac's Accelero Xtreme GTX 275
    Inno3d iChill GTX 275

I'd also consider a GTX 260 216 with the same cooler, I know that Inno3d make the GTX 260 iChill Accelero XXX but I haven't been able to find these anywhere either, not sure about other manufacturers for the 260.

I really want the quietness of the cooler, and the fact that it's also meant to be a superb cooler is a bonus, if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. I know I could fit the cooler to a 260 myself but don't particularly want to invalidate the warranty on a brand new card, might be able to fit it to a 275 too but the same thing.

Yeah that may well be the answer, I'm most likely getting a 260 now (outside chance of a asus custom cooled 4890 if thats out and well reviewed when i order) and I guess with the 260 I can test it out, if i'm not happy with stock cooling I can fit one myself.

Unless you are volt-modding the card (which will probably void warranty) or want to water-cool it, after-market cooling isn't necessary.

They are a heck of a lot quieter though if you're looking to drop the noise levels.

Of course, if it was necessary then they wouldn't sell the cards!

Indeed, I think someone may not have read my first post, quieter and significantly better cooling are both appealing!

Re: Looking for Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme GTX 275

I would say that it isn't worth worrying about trying to get the pre-fitted versions - the Zotac it says is only available in China, Galaxy cards seem pretty rare to start with and the Hexus article mentions that iChills are a nightmare to get hold of.

The only thing I'm wondering is whether it's possible to buy an EVGA card with a long warranty, fit the Accelero Xtreme, and then if it the card breaks, just reattach the original cooler and send it back. Would there be any obvious problems with doing that?

I'm not suggesting that you try to fiddle it, but it's hardly reasonable saying that attaching a superior heatsink voids the warranty, provided the fault isn't related to heat. It's not as if graphics cards don't fail with the original coolers on them.

Re: Looking for Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme GTX 275

I think that's an option and with the evga warranty it shouldn't be a problem either.

The only problem I have with it is the EVGA cards are pretty steep, the 260 216 is almost the same price as a palit 275, £5 difference on scan. The 260 192 however is significantly cheaper, quite ridiculously so in fact, £143 compared to £195 but then the XFX 260 216 is only £155 which makes the most sense if the card doesn't break...

I'm not totally sure I will need the cooler anyway it would just depend on noise level, I think I'd probably rather take the risk with the XFX card and if I do want the cooler just hope that my card isn't going to have any issues.

Saying all of this though the large cooler does mean that SLI isn't an option, if the asus 4890 came out and was quiet i think that would solve a lot of my problems!

There is a BFG on pre-order for £167 - you could get in touch with Scan via the forums to find out if that's due anytime soon. They and EVGA both have excellent warranties in my opinion.

Having said that, in terms of price BFG 260 + Accelero Xtreme = GTX 275
