Output DVI to HDMI display?

Hi,

I'm trying to choose the correct adapter for outputting from this card to an HDMI TV.

It appears that this adapter would physically connect the 2 combined with a standard hdmi cable

however the description states "Connects a DVI-D or DVI-I digital display to a device with an HDMI display output" rather than to send input to an hdmi device, is this correct?

this description of this adapter is what I'm looking for
"Connects an HDMI digital display to a device with a DVI-D display output"

however the physical connections would not match up (DVI fem to DVI fem).

the cable is dual purpose Output hdmi to a DVI display or vice versa .

I wouldn't worry about the descriptions.

The cables don't do anything special and will work either way round.

That last link you posted is probably the best bet, not because of what it says it will do, but it is a full cable rather than an adapter, so there is less chance of having connection problems because something came loose. I always try and use a complete cable when I can for this very reason, dealing with loose conections is very annoying.

I see, as long as they are connected correctly physically they should work, like you say the best is having a complete cable, no wastage .
