    Re: GTX360 and GTX380 Benches!

even if the slides were true amd could afford to bring down the price of the hd5870 by £50-£100 which would still make it a better choice then nvidia (after all the gtx 360 with tht kind of preformance wont go for less than £300)

but unfortunately the slides are obviously fake so...

That's one of the reasons it would have been nice if the slides were real. If NVIDIA trumps ATi's performance and prices their parts around the same, ATi would be forced to lower their prices and everyone buying cards would benefit. More choices at more price points and levels of performance can only be considered good.

I assuming that the new feature will be some way of using the GPU other than for graphics. Encryption ?
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

You mean something to replace a free game, like a voucher for executive relief?

Come on, this is the 'whoop-ass' company. Of course I do. Though apparently I got the capitalisation wrong. Should be Cg, albeit in those days nVidia was NVIDIA.

    Re: GTX360 and GTX380 Benches!

Well their cards started doing maths, then they did physics. I guess Chemistry is next on the subject list.

Perhaps it will smell funny? And it would have to be spelt "Chemixtry" or something.

<excited>Oh I think I guessed it! 3 slot cooling solution, 50% better than the competition!</excited>

Sorry, have been a NV customer for years, but they are annoying me now. FFS, I only want WoW to run a bit faster, not much to ask is it??

Given past performance I think it'll disable your motherboard if it works out that you're not using an NVidia chipset, because they've not been able to test for compatibility on all configurations...

The only reason I'm looking forward to Fermi's release, is so it forces AMD to tackle their supply issues and get the price of the 5xxx series down.
