Running Xbox 360 on a VGA/DVI monitor?

Well I've "provisionally" bought an Xbox Arcade with HDMI.

I also bought the item linked here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Is that enough to use my 3.5mm pc speakers and will it work with the HDMI xbox version? Reason I bought that cable is because I thought I wouldn't be getting the HDMI version of the an xbox 360.

Ok, seems I need a female RCA to female 3.5mm jack, can't seem to find a single female to female though apart from on US Amazon, any chance someone can help me find one?

(I guess I could use a male to female but then that would mean I'd need to have my pc switched on...)

I'm lost, from my experience you need 2x female 3.5mm > 1x male 3.5mm adapter - the male end goes into the speaker input - so you don't need the pc on. Its a shame you've already bought that cable as the official Xbox 360 one comes with the adapter.

My speakers aren't anything special so they don't have an input AFAIK.

Haven't read this in detail yet but I used a HDMI to DVI adapter as I had one lying around, with an HDMI cable.

Then for sound I just use the cable they give you with it, the only problem being the HDMI cable and that cable dont fit in at the same time... unless... you strip off the big plastic surround which I did lol.

It's just basic phono cable to 3.5mm and it;s good to go

Well I gave up looking for it and went for a female to female 3.5mm jack as well as the RCA female to male 3.5mm jack.

Don't think they'll arrive before the Xbox though Sigh... FFXIII better be worth it!

(Funnily enough, I love every FF that I've played, even FFX-2 so I doubt this one will be excused)

Yeah I know, female to female is what I needed, it's sold on the US amazon website but not in the UK >_< I might go into Maplins tomorrow if I remember and see if they have it at a half decent price.
