Going from nVidia to ATI .. driver cleanup ?

As title really. Changing cards and not done so in a desktop for many moons.
Is it still safe practice to just remove the current drivers and replace them with the ATI ones or do I have to sit through a new OS install just to be on the safe side ?

Whilst I know this is a fairly daft question, Ive been out the loop for a long time so just want to make sure of best practice !

Re: Going from nVidia to ATI .. driver cleanup ?

When I did this in my machine recently I personally just unistalled the nvidia drivers, removed the card, installed the ATI card and then installed the ATI drivers with no problems.

Some people use driver sweeper to ensure any nvidia remains are gone, but I've not had any need to do so myself.
