    Question Non AGP8 motherboard and AGP8 card`

    All,

    I'm thinking of getting an Nvidia 6800 card (once they are properly available) for a windows machine. My motherboard is not AGP8. the reason I was thinking of getting this card was to improve my graphics / gaming performance, however if my board does not support AGP8 (although the card will work) the the performance of the card be reduced by the bottleneck of not hacing an AGP 8 slot ? is it worth upgrading the card, or will I have to do the motherboard/cpu/ram to get an agp 8 board.

    Matt.

    i am running a 8x agp card on the 4x agp on the it7max 2 motherboard. I took it out and put it in a computer with 8x and there was only a few fps gain here and there, not much difference between the two really. You should be able to get away with it

    There will be very little difference. Maybe a few FPS at most, its certainly nothing that will hold you back

    As long as you use that card in an AGP4x slot you're OK.

    Don't, whatever you do, stick it in a 2x or 1x slot - actually I don't think you physically can, but it wouldn't be a good idea to.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
