    HD5670 Crossfired Or HD6870 Single?

I am completely new to this so i am not entirely sure how this works, im basicaly looking for the best video card for under about 150GBP. If i have this right, and crossfiring is using two supported GPU's together then would 2 crossfired HD5670's be better than a single HD6870? or vice versa?

    Thanks in advance.

    EDIT!

I want to play hi end games in 1080p on max settings so im after the highest spec for my money.

Single HD6870 would be better IMO

Always go for the best single graphics card you can afford. SLI / Crossfire (and yes, you're right, this is 2 cards operating together) is pretty good, but you rarely get 2x performance scaling and it's very much driver- and game-dependant; you do get some games where multi-gpu setups just don't scale at all. A single card at the same price will be more reliable, and usually give better performance for the money.

As scaryjim says go for the best single card you can afford. Its better than getting two lesser cards, it also leaves you the option to then upgrade the better card to sli/xfire. Win Win

I would go for a single card, less heat and unless your going to use a 6950 crossfire I wouldn't bother.

Always best single cards so you dont have to worry about buying new games and them not being supported by xfire/sli and playing like pants until they are.
