Just wondering how much people think these will go for once the next gens come on the market properly. Thinking both new and 2nd hand. My gfx card holds up at the moment, even in ut2004, but I feel that an upgrade may soon be due.

Not around too often!
Have a look in Bargain Hunt
Very true. The o/c one does seem good value, but if it looks like they will drop any more, or when all the benchmark freeks upgrade to the new ones, then I will wait! Although they are very tempting...

If they go the same way as 9700 Pro prices then they won't really fall any further new (£120-130ish) & indeed once production ends & supplies start to dry up they may even go up slightly.
They cost what?
£175 now?

Components So Far:
XFX Geforce MX 4000 128mb
"SumEvision" (Who the hell are they) Multi channel PCI Sound card.
Standard 56K Modem that I'll probably never use.
Case with a bit missing but it's only superficial.
(God this PC is turning into a joke. )
They cost £130-£140 now just have a look online.
I think they will breifly go down once next generation hits the market properly. Because stores will want to get rid of the cards and get in the next ones. However after that they will probably rise a little more.
I would say get a 2nd hand one when most upgrade, you may well be able to get one for sub £100inc delivery.

9800Pro's are down to £117.50 at Overclockers.co.uk!!!!
overclockers had the Herc 9800pro for 99 pounds! but its all sold out now.
Just wondering if a X600 will outperform the current 9800 pros.
Also, I know that ATi has released 128 bit 9800 pros, which i think has 4 pipelines only.
An x800 is definately more powerful than a 9800pro though probably not enough to justify the purchase especially with 9800pro's being so cheap.Originally Posted by nakajima

They should be priced about 100-200 punds depending on the x600 model
what does the x600 have in comparision to the 9800pro then?

one's vapourware (like X800 XT's) atm - the other is available in large quantities and at stupidly low prices (forgive me if I'm starting to sound like some tacky ad)

x800 is a considerable jump in both price and performance and the x600xt which you might expect to perform similar to the 9800pro you end up worse off.
