Other then that, your not going to hit 1GB.

I'm spotting a trend of MSI.....I would seriously recommend the Gigabyte Windforce cards....IMO, they are slightly quieter then the twin frozrs.

    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Do you know of anywhere that stocks Gigabyte 2GB 6950 cards, in the UK? I've checked all the reputable ones I know of, plus the resellers/etc listed on Gigabyte's 'Where to Buy' list and I can't find any 2GB 6950 Gigabyte cards anywhere. MSI just seems to be much more widely available. Matter of fact it's not that easy finding HD 6950 cards, period.

I won't touch the more budget brands (cough XFX/Vortex/PowerColor/'own brand') and I don't like the look of Sapphire's RMA reputation.

I'd like to stick with a 2GB card mainly because it seems this is the direction that more demanding games are heading in (well, >1.2GB anyway!).

Seems like there's no point waiting for Kepler in 2012, so my original argument still stands :-)

Don't forget to put it in context - Sapphire are the largest seller so complaints will be proportionally higher. PowerColor are the second largest. If people made their routine 'no-problem' experiences as well heard as the problem ones there might seem like a different emphasis.

MSI are as budget as XFX - consistently among the cheapest.

Re: Help choosing a 560Ti (probably) graphics card

Gigabyte do not do a 2GB overclock version of the 6950. Which I think is fairly telling on how useful they feel that RAM is......

So, if you adamant of going with more VRAM then you need, your not going to get the quieter card.

Time to decide what means more to you. Noise/heat or VRAM.
