    New GFX card?

I'm quite happy to admit that I am a little outta touch with GFX cards at the moment. So that's why I am asking the top notch minds at Hexus for their advice.

I'm after a new GFX card for my second pc, only requirements are that it has to have TV out and be able to play Star Wars Galaxies as that's the only game I will play on it. Budget is around £60 and I'm not fussed as to whether it's an ATI or Nvidia card.

    Thanks

    Fair amount of choice.
    ati:
    r9600 128mb
    r9500 pro (retek)
    r8500
    various assortments of r9000/9200

    nvidia:
    gf4 ti4200
    gf4 ti4400
    gf4 ti4600
    (all above 2nd hand)
fx5600 may be accessible for 60 notes...

You should be able variations of all of these cards with TV-out....dont know how demanding star wars: galaxies is....i tried to suggested ones with reasonable play ability.

Nice list SWG is not very demanding at all on the graphics front so any of those would be more than enough to cope with it.

You might be able to pickup a 9700 Pro second hand, give it about a month when the latest and greatest graphics cards are easily available there is gonna be a huge amount knocking around 2nd hand.

I wouldn't go with the r8500, other than that, any of those should do you for SWG.

    I think best bet would be a 9600pro - good medium-range card

From the selection that i posted i would be most tempted by ti4600, or radeon 9600. But if you can get a 9700np i would go for that, deffo the best buy.

In a nutshell , no. A lot of people have major problems getting ATI cards to work under Linux, so they go for nivida instead.
