    High end GPU prices

    19th May

Apart from the new entries, everything is down in price this week - stronger pound perhaps? Still low stocks of the 680.

    nVidia GTX 690: £910

    nVidia GTX 680: £430

    nVidia GTX 580 3GB: £360

    AMD HD 7970: £350

    nVidia GTX 670: £320

    AMD HD 7950: £295

    nVidia GTX 580 1.5GB: £285

    nVidia GTX 570 2.5GB: £265

    AMD HD 7870: £250

    nVidia GTX 570 1.25GB: £200

More for my own use really, but I just wanted to track how the kepler release affects (in stock) GPU prices* in the high end market. Someone else might be interested. Or not, in which case sorry for taking up your forum space

Should have started sooner, but I'll start now:

    23rd March 2012

    nVidia GTX 680: £420

    AMD HD 7970: £415

    nVidia GTX 580 3GB: £405

    AMD HD 7950: £340

    nVidia GTX 580 1.5GB: £315

    AMD HD 7870: £270

    nVidia GTX 570 2.5GB: £255

    nVidia GTX 570 1.25GB: £220

    30th March 2012

Not much change in prices of the cheapest in stock, but stock levels appear to have fluctuated so availability might not last at these prices.

nVidia GTX 680: £420 (very low stock)

    AMD HD 7970: £415

    nVidia GTX 580 3GB: £395

    AMD HD 7950: £340

    nVidia GTX 580 1.5GB: £315

    nVidia GTX 570 2.5GB: £285 (low stock)

    AMD HD 7870: £270

    nVidia GTX 570 1.25GB: £215

    7th April 2012

    nVidia GTX 680: £420

    AMD HD 7970: £415

    nVidia GTX 580 3GB: £395

    AMD HD 7950: £340

    nVidia GTX 580 1.5GB: £310

    AMD HD 7870: £260

    nVidia GTX 570 2.5GB: £285

    nVidia GTX 570 1.25GB: £215

    14th April

    nVidia GTX 680: £425

    AMD HD 7970: £400

    nVidia GTX 580 3GB: £365

    AMD HD 7950: £340

    nVidia GTX 580 1.5GB: £300

    AMD HD 7870: £260

    nVidia GTX 570 2.5GB: £280

    nVidia GTX 570 1.25GB: £215

    6th May

Very low availability of the 680 again. Price cuts for the HD7900 series have kicked in.

    nVidia GTX 680: £440

    nVidia GTX 580 3GB: £405

    AMD HD 7970: £350

    AMD HD 7950: £300

    nVidia GTX 580 1.5GB: £300

    nVidia GTX 570 2.5GB: £285

    AMD HD 7870: £265

    nVidia GTX 570 1.25GB: £210

*prices of cheapest, in stock, non-special/special branded model, rounded to nearest £5. Ideally found at more than one retailer in the same kind of price range. This isn't meant to be a 'get the best price here' thread, more observing general trend.

    Re: High end GPU prices

Nice idea, I just posted somewhere wondering how much the 570's were going to drop. Basically is it worth selling my GPU now and getting a 680 or waiting 3 months and buying another for sli. Its all about the money!

    Re: High end GPU prices

If you can wait then prices are definately gonna drop a bit after a month or so I reckon. I was going to hold off for a while before getting a 7870 but my 512 MB 4870 is definately due for replacement and I'm impatient!

Everything drops in price in the end...I think that when nvidias complete range of 600 cards are out prices will start to drop...But im also impatient and ordered a new 7870.

    Re: High end GPU prices

competitor has gtx 680 at sub 400 plus 25 off, makes it a very good deal. Still, i am waiting for more price drops and as i like 7970's cooler so much (DCT2) i am gonna wait for price drops and that cooler on 680

Shouldn't be from these figures - they're far too rough and unscientific. If someone wanted to track exact and equivalent prices across a decent sample size of retailers they could make some charts. My figures are deliberately not that, and will only show very large trends.

Also not enough data for a chart to be useful given that there are only two sets of prices and those in red show increases while those in green show price drops.

I did once use a forum where they had a thread that showed various different build options based at different price points to give people an idea of what they could build for the budget they have in mind. It would be great if there was one like that on here, but sadly it's not something I have time for.

    Re: High end GPU prices

A gtx570 for £215 isn't a bad deal, in saying that i got my gtx480 for £185 from scan when they had a couple left (overclocks to 850/4000), a bargain this was.

Dabs has the HD7870 for around £264 and OcUK had the HD7870 for around £260. Hopefully, this means HD7870 prices are starting to go down.

The dabs stock is weird - it's sort of not in stock, but available soon. Try ordering next day delivery (earlier in the day) and it's not available because they don't have stock themselves or something.

OcUK's cheapest non-limited-time offer price is £280, that's going up, not down

That's the kind of price I'd expect to see the sapphire, as the RRP is a little lower than the others, but hopefully it'll filter through to shops with more stock as well soon.

Amazon has an Asus 570 Direct CU2 for £232 (valid on 8th of April 2012). I think at that price, it's a killer deal.
