Question 6800 GT prices and availability..

Normally I wouldn't ask for this sorta help but I've kinda been left in a bit of a mess..

I'm goin to a LAN on sunday and wanted a nice new shiny GT to show off with.. placing my order on wednesday and hopefully gettin it b4 friday..

However I now cannot find one in stock

I've seen that overclockers have a good supply of Leadtek card comin in.. does anyone know what these are like?

Also Dabs have 31 Aopen Gts comin in.. what are these like?

Finally, where else has these beauties in stock?

    Thanks for the help guys..

They (pcw) are listing the GTs In Stock: http://www.pcwcomponentcentre.co.uk/invt/9105210401

I got my PNY 6800GT from them and it arrived next working day (that's what I paid for).

I think ALL the 6800GTs are pretty much reference design, so it doesn't matter which one you go for. Some may have a slightly different HS/FAN, but the reference design is more than good enough, so I would pay extra for anything else. My cards running sweet @400/1.1

Thanks for all the replies. I had my heart set on a PNY card.. I know from past experiences that their cards are good.

What manufacturer would you guys recommend?
Is there anywhere in the UK that stocks the BFG or PNY cards?

I can only really afford £310.. so therefore a GT is the only realistic option.

    Thanks

As said, www.pcwcomponentcentre.co.uk stock the BFG 6800GT OC now, for a smidge under £300.

I think they charged me £7.50. Not sure if that was before the VAT, though. When you get paid, check the site again, as the PNYs might be back in stock. That should certainly come in at under your budget, even including the P&P.

BTW, I loved your quote (my caps): "I can ONLY really afford £310". Jeez, you can ONLY afford £310, on a graphics card. That's a nice position to be in! Me, I couldn't afford my card, but that didn't stop me buying it anyway! :-)

    Cheers,

Yeah.. its nice to have that sorta money.

But in reality i've probably done exactly the same as the other ppl who've bought these cards.. done loads of overtime and saved up..

Its taken a while to win my girlfriend over with the idea though..

I think it varies depending on the shipping option you choose. I think mine was 'Business Post'. I tracked the parcel from the PCW site, and it was delivered on the ETA given on the tracking system.

They're based in the US, and really introduced themselves with the GeForce FX. However, they have a very good rep across the pond. I've seen an FX5200 made by them, and can vouch that they are very good quality. They make their own PCBs too (altho I think all the 6800s are still all ref boards).
