ATI HD4870 upgrade to HD7850?

as the title suggests, i'm looking to update my HD4870 with a HD7850 mainly due to the cost of the HD7870. (and family costs v spare cash)

I play FPS mostly on the PC (spec to your left) Battlefield 3, MW3 etc

is this a good upgrade for the price?

Pretty much. I went from a 4870 to a 7870, but the 7850 is better value for money and not that much lower performance. That said, the 4870 was only struggling on a few things, so while a 7850 will play everything fine, the question is whether you are finding the 4870 limiting.

My BF3 struggles a bit online so i've had to turn it down a bit
