AMD HD 6870 or the AMD HD 6950?

yeah im torn between one of these two for my upgrade to my card...

not sure which one would be more worth it with my build, which is

CPU: Intel I5 3570k ivy bridge processor..
RAM: 16GBs
motherboard: MSI
PSU: XFX Pro 550Watt
current GPU: Nvidia GTS 250 512mb factory overclocked

I dont play games in High resolutions... just 1440x900
i do make videos of gameplay every now and again
not sure if my obsessive drawing and stuff would effect which card is better or not?... lol XD

lol so can someone please help me decide which card would be better?...

the AMD HD 6870 or the AMD HD 6950.... any help is much appreciated :3

The 6950 2GB would last you far longer then the 6870, but the 6870 would work well with your setup and game style.

Personally, I would go with the 6950 since it's the safest bet.

well the cheapest 6950 on scan is a 2GB one so yeah... XD thanks, think i'll wait and see what some others think too tho :3

For 1440x900 resolution and not playing at the highest settings, the 6870 would be enough to power anything at that, but personally, I would go with the 6950 2GB still, leaves you with more options if he wants to upgrade to a higher resolution or higher settings while lasting longer with new games.

Depending on the model of 6950, some of them can be flashed to a 6970'ish level.

well for starters, the 6870 is like £50 cheaper, and according to some benchmarks i've looked at, its only about 7 FPS weaker than the 6950 lol
