    Weird artefacts when web browsing

    Hey Hexites,

I've got an issue that's only started recently, when web browsing, I get what appear to be artefacts but they only seem to happen on certain websites but they disappear really fast if I go onto a different webpage. When I game or stress test the graphics card, they never appear.

I've tried to take screenshots of them but they never show up and sometimes just pressing the screenshot button causes it to return back to normal.

    System specs:
    CPU: i3-2100
    GPU: MSI 7850 1GB OC
OS: Windows 8 Release Preview 8400

Unfortunately I don't have any desktop PCs in the house with Windows 7 as they're all mini ITX systems to test the card in.

Is there anything I should try?

Update 11/2/12: Sorry for the lack of updates, I kind of just lived with the occasional artefacts and when I paid for Windows 8 Pro I never saw them again! Guess it was just an issue with Windows 8 RC.

    Different web browser?

Seriously, rendering artefeacts might be as simple as the web browser not drawing the page correctly, particularly as you're on a preview OS. if it doesn't cause system instability and you can usually find a way to put it right I wouldn't worry about it

If they're not showing up could it be the monitor?

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Using Google Chrome if that helps. I've only seen it happen on certain websites though, could it be coding on the website itself?

I don't think it's the monitor but I will keep in mind to check it though if I can't solve it.

Certainly possible - a lot of websites try to use cunning javascript/html5 based late rendering techniques nowadays. Or it could be something to do with using Win 8 - a minor driver glitch or something - particularly if the latest version of Chrome uses GPU acceleration to render web pages (which a lot of browsers seem to be moving in to). I'd definitely try the same websites in IE and Firefox and see if you see the same artefacts or not.
