    Graphics artifacts

Europa universalis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europa_Universalis_III) which is seriously un-graphically intensive and used to play perfectly on my old system, has nasty artifacts in normal play since I upgraded; black and yellow lines shoot across the screen at random intervals. My gpu, a 7850, is furmark stable and I have up to date directx and amd drivers, I have no idea what might be causing this?

I was thinking maybe the new directx/drivers might disagree with it but can't think of any way of troubleshooting this (other than installing loads of old versions of drivers which doesn't sound tempting)

Aye I will test it out in another machine but I'm struggling to see it being a hardware issue really.

System runs very cool, idle temp of the card is only 33, didn't even top 67 in furmark. Running catalyst 12.8.

    Re: Graphics artifacts

Is it overclocked? with my sapphire 7850, if i even overclock it to just 900 mhz, it runs stable in furmark, heaven, & 3d mark 11. But when I went to play dirt 3, the strangest thing ever happens, the headlights of the car illuminating the road flicker on and off.

    Re: Graphics artifacts

It's the overclocked version, which I have also overclocked further yes. However running it at the cards stock clocks (still over a standard 7850 obviously) it still seems to happen. Will have a good go at working out what's going on this evening.

    Re: Graphics artifacts

I would try unplugging any hardware that isn't needed. Just incase something is causing a problem with the drivers.

You never know. Hardware issues can present them selves in funny ways sometimes.
