surely it will only allow more cards to use it (like x800 & 6800) rather than improving performance? so if your card can take existing vga silencers why wait?

I might get a new one so that when (if) I upgrade I can still use it.

I don't think they would be releasing replacments for the current coolers if they wern't any better

I have a Radeon 9800Pro at the moment if that makes a difference to a release date

so far all the revisions have simply added to the list of compatible cards. if you have a 9800 just buy the cooler now and be done with it!

I got an email from Artic Cooling a few days ago from a very perplexed Artic Rep who thought they were already available in the UK.

They wouldnt make a copper one if it wasnt better - or atleast to sell it for more.
Copper costs a lot more than alu, not just in materials but its harder to machine.. They wouldnt juse it just for the sake of it...
Thats not saying it will perform better.. there design might be flawed in some way.. but if it is worse, then they have to be stupid to release it.

Does anyone know which version of the new cards goes on a Sapphire Radeon 9800Pro 128MB?

    I'm thinking it's number 2

Overclockers UK have them in stock tomorrow, but I heard from their forum that the ATI 4 will be £30 + VAT + Delivery.
