surely it will only allow more cards to use it (like x800 & 6800) rather than improving performance? so if your card can take existing vga silencers why wait?
I might get a new one so that when (if) I upgrade I can still use it.

I don't think they would be releasing replacments for the current coolers if they wern't any better
I have a Radeon 9800Pro at the moment if that makes a difference to a release date
I had a rev 2 on my 9800 pro.I've got a revision 3 on my x800 pro and it fits ok.

so far all the revisions have simply added to the list of compatible cards. if you have a 9800 just buy the cooler now and be done with it!Originally Posted by ben_wade
i've acutally heard that the rev 4 might not cool the 9800 pro cards aswell..
well that's what i read, so recently bought a rev 3 at ebuyer instead....
do they do em for the asus 9600xt?
Would have thought so!Originally Posted by cm_uk
So you mean if i was too buy the one with the copper base etc its not going too perform as well as the old on with the lump or ali?
not sure mate...as i fort copper would be better as like hsf like the aero 7 + use em and it seems better than the standard material.as for the 9600xt vga cooler...
There is a review at www.insanetek.com and a summary of all the different models.
I got an email from Artic Cooling a few days ago from a very perplexed Artic Rep who thought they were already available in the UK.
They wouldnt make a copper one if it wasnt better - or atleast to sell it for more.
Copper costs a lot more than alu, not just in materials but its harder to machine.. They wouldnt juse it just for the sake of it...
Thats not saying it will perform better.. there design might be flawed in some way.. but if it is worse, then they have to be stupid to release it.
Does anyone know which version of the new cards goes on a Sapphire Radeon 9800Pro 128MB?
I'm thinking it's number 2
Overclockers UK have them in stock tomorrow, but I heard from their forum that the ATI 4 will be £30 + VAT + Delivery.
